Thailand is easily one of the best places to find top quality, yet affordable bespoke suits, and in fact my entire wardrobe through my years working in Parliament Buildings (yes I once had a proper job) was made up entirely of suits which I bought in Bangkok. And what makes this is that the money saved on suits more or less covered my flight tickets to and from the Land of Smiles. They were almost like free holidays. So these days I would never even consider having suits made elsewhere, and still my wardrobes, on both sides of the world, are lined with suits tailored to bespoke fit in Bangkok. And this includes the suit I had tailored for our wedding in Bali. That being said, there was always a learning curve when it comes to tailors in Bangkok (shown from my progress below), and while I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad suit, I didn’t always know where to find the best. As tailors appear to be found on every corner in Bangkok, and in Sukhumvit particularly, it is almost impossible to know where to starts. And while it isn’t hard to find a cheap suit in the city, it can be hard to the perfect bespoke suits in Bangkok.

So my initial advice would be to avoid the hardsell, and cheap suit salesmen which harass you on the streets of Bangkok. As well as anything touted by a taxi or tuk-tuk driver. That one’s really a no-brainer. As any reputable bespoke tailor in Bangkok won’t need for these somewhat scammy techniques, which are aimed more at tourists, as the better will already have a reputation, and a steady flow of loyal clientelle locally. Anyway, Galaxy Tailors is one of the long-standing names in Bangkok, with over 25 years of experience, and a skilled team of cutters and tailors on hand to measure up some top notch suits, at decent prices. Thier shop is also found outside of Sukhumvit’s main tourist drag, which is always a bonus, yet it’s still easy to reach with just one stop on the Metro from Asoke’s central interchange station, at Phetchaburi MRT Station (3 minute walk to Supalai Premier Asoke). And while I do prefer the personal touch when it comes to tailors, they do offer custom made suits and clothing ordered from the comfort of home (through their website below) so there’s no need to even book the flight to Thailand.
