Travel Tips for Flawless Skin

Travelling is of course a blessing, but when it comes to long term travel it is, more also tiring, a lot of the time uncomfortable, and it’s just hard to hold down a proper routine. And when you’re bouncing about abroad, and hopping from one extreme climate to the next, it is important to stay on top of your skincare routine. It is a challenge in itself, and I will always have an essential set of skincare products in my bag to be sure to stay ahead of the game!

Moisturisers and face mists

An organic, chemical-free moisturiser that is friendly to your skin type is essential while travelling to protect your skin from dryness and breakouts. Do your research before going anywhere; what kind of climate is usually there and what do you need to take care of yourself. A moisturiser will help reduce dullness and keep skin radiant. It is recommended that you use an all-natural eye lift cream to avoid dark circles and puffiness you might catch because of those early morning flights and late nights. You can find everything in travel-size packaging, so they will not take up much space.

Face mists give your skin boosts of hydration that it needs. To keep your skin refreshed, glowing, and healthy, carry a face mist at all times. Keep it in your bag and spritz it frequently on your face.

Pro tip: The air in the plane dries the skin, so moisturise frequently while flying.

Sunscreen

Always carry a sunscreen wherever you go. Sometimes you need to apply it more than once, especially in urban cities where there is excess pollution and sunlight. Exposure to cosmic radiation increases at high altitudes so feel free to apply it wherever your skin is exposed, not just the face.

Face masks

Pack a face mask. When winding down in your hotel room give your skin the extra care and relaxation it deserves!

Facial cleansers and scrubs

Keep scrubs or cleansers that suit your skin type to exfoliate and cleanse your skin of dirt and buildup. If you do not want to carry a lot of tubes or containers, you can make your own cleanser/makeup wipes! These come in handy especially during flights and road trips. You can make them on your own too! Here are DIY makeup wipes for you.

Take care of your diet

Yes, you can eat all the street food and specialities of the place you are visiting, but do not forget to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and keep yourself hydrated at all times. Eat foods that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids as they stimulate your immune system and keep you energised. Want to know which food items contain essential fatty acids? It might be hard sticking to a skincare routine while travelling, but it is highly important and beneficial if you do so. Our skin sheds on a daily basis, and getting healthy skin is a long process. A negative skincare routine can harm your skin in the future, causing dullness and uneven skin tone, making it harder for you to take care of it. To avoid such trouble, try following your readymade skincare routine. Yes, it might be bothersome to carry all the products you use at home, but you can always buy travel-size containers or simplify by just packing the important ones.

Remember, always use products that do not contain chemicals or artificial fragrances, as they may cause irritation and adverse reactions. Make sure you sleep well to avoid dark circles and dull skin, eat well to prevent inflammation, and have fun at your lovely, blissful vacation!
