Best Travel Destinations in China and Japan

You still have plenty of time before you start thinking about NFL Week 4 odds, and you can fill some of that time by doing some travelling since you will likely want to gamble when it comes time for the NFL season, so there are two places to visit before that season starts.

Asia has some interesting laws regarding legal gambling, but two of the biggest countries forbid it. Those two countries would be China and Japan, but you won’t even need to gamble with all the awesome tourist destinations you will find in each country.

If you are visiting these countries from the United States, then you might run into some issues along the way, but Americans have been taking trips to China and Japan for decades. Here are some must-see places to visit if you can get to Asia and visit these countries.

Plenty of History in China

China was discovered over 700 years ago, and the culture in that part of the world is rich with history. This is also a highly developed country, and you will find both historic culture and technological advancements when visiting China.

The biggest tourist attraction in China is the Great Wall of China, and it is a landmark that you must visit at least once in your life. There are more than 6,000 kilometres of the wall to explore, and you will find some interesting stops along the way.

Beijing is the city in China where you are likely going to want to focus your attention when in the country, and you won’t ever run out of things to do. Visiting The Forbidden City and Imperial Palace is always a stop that most people check out when in China.

This structure was largely built all the way back in the 1400s and is still standing to this day. Near the Forbidden City, you can also make a stop at Tiananmen Square and check out everything there is to do in that location.

If you are into animals, you simply have to check out the Chengdu Research Base in Sichuan Province, where they are breeding pandas to save that animal from extinction. This is much different from a zoo as you will see the pandas in their natural habitat, where they are closely monitored to increase the population.

Beyond the places just mentioned, you can explore the many rivers in China and take a boat ride to some of the other locations that are too hard to visit by car or bus.

Enjoy Time Near the Water in Japan

Japan is an island country in Asia, and that will provide some terrific opportunities to explore the many beaches and spend some time on the water. You won’t want to be on the water the entire time, though, as some of the biggest cities have some tourist attractions that you simply can’t miss out on.

Okinawa might sound familiar to those that love to study history as it was a key battleground near the end of WWII. There won’t be any battles in Okinawa today, but it’s one of the best islands to visit if you want to do some diving or snorkelling.

If you prefer to do some winter activities, then it would be wise to make a stop in Niseko and Hokkaido, where skiing and other snow activities are offered. There are plenty of resorts to choose from when looking to stay at Niseko, and all of them will offer up some unique opportunities.

Tokyo is another city that has to be on your list when visiting Japan, and you will get many different experiences when in Tokyo. This is a city that has a number of different neighbourhoods that all offer unique perspectives of Japanese culture.

Food is a big part of any vacation, and you will find the best food that Japan offers in the port city of Osaka
